Wesley LifeForce

Wesley LifeForce provides suicide prevention services that educate and empower local communities, supporting people most at risk.

Patients talk to their General Practitioner (GP) about mental health more than any other health issue1. Wesley LifeForce General Practitioner Suicide Prevention Training Program was developed to assist GPs to recognise the signs where a patient may be having thoughts of suicide and to provide the skills and confidence to intervene.

In 2019, Wesley LifeForce commissioned Professor Morton Rawlin to evaluate the program. He found the program to be a useful resource.

“[It’s] a highly valued training process that is accepted by participants as both a training process and program that delivers good skills,” Professor Morton said.

“It allows them to tackle patients with suicidal ideation with more confidence, more planning and overall success for the patient’s outcome.”
