Wesley Family Preservation runs the SafeCare program, which can help reduce abuse and neglect in the lives of children and teenagers. Our caseworkers help caregivers and parents to build positive parenting skills in their homes, so they can better support their children or teenagers.
SafeCare was developed by Georgia State University in Atlanta and Wesley Family Preservation trains and maintains certification of all staff delivering the program.

How does SafeCare work?
SafeCare is an evidence-based, behavioural skills training program for parents of children or teenagers, who’ve identified as being at-risk or have been reported to child protection services.
Caseworkers will visit your home once a week, for about an hour, to help you with the practical side of parenting.
You’ll learn transferable skills so you can prepare your child or teenager for a task, discover how to prompt better behaviour during an activity and how to wrap things up through positive communication techniques.
SafeCare focuses on the essentials of looking, touching, talking, feeling and smiling as communication tools between a parent and their child or teenager.
