About the program

Wesley Disability Service’s in-home support disability program empowers people living with a disability to lead fulfilling lives by providing compassionate, life-enhancing care. We emphasize maintaining independence while addressing social, physical, and spiritual needs.

About the role

Support Workers provide individualised support to clients appropriate to their needs, goals and aspirations. Services may be provided to clients in their own home. This may include, but is not limited to, capacity building, personal care, community participation, transport, meal preparation and social activities for clients as well as developing skills in our clients to support their own day to day independence.

Support Workers will require a driver’s licence and comprehensively insured vehicle. If successful in applying for the position, you would be working in the area in which you reside.

About you

  • Certificate III in Individual Support or Disability Care
  • First Aid Certificate
  • previous experience working with disability (desirable)
  • experience in monitoring clients and reporting behavioural or health changes
  • experience with providing personal care, including the use of mobility aids
  • well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
  • understanding of WH&S issues and risk management for client home-based care and during transport of clients
  • comprehensively insured & registered motor vehicle and current NSW driver’s licence
  • those speaking a second language are encouraged to apply.

Remuneration

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010. Other benefits include:
