We’ll help you to live independently in a home that best supports your needs.
Your home is your safe place, a space that works for you, where things are in reach and you can relax. Whether you’re looking for a new place to live or ways to make your current home better suit your needs, you can count on us to help you to live independently.
We’ll support you to live the way that suits you. We’ll explore with you the different ways you can choose to live – whether that’s sharing your home with housemates or living in the home of a host. We’ll also help you to design your supports, so you can choose how you’d like to live.
Whatever your needs, we can support you in finding a new home to continue life’s journey. From help or supervision with daily tasks, such as showering, getting dressed and cooking meals, we’ll help you to live as independently as possible while building your skills. We’ll also support Your home is your safe place, a space that works for you, where things are in reach and you can relax. We can help you find specialised and purpose built housing that suits your needs. We will work with you in determining the best fit as per your choices and preferences.
We have purpose-built homes which provide a safe, comfortable environment where you can access daily supports more easily. To find out more, call us on 1300 086 906 or email ndis@wesleymission.org.au.
If you need a short time away from your home, you can access funding for short-term accommodation. It covers the cost of your care in another place for up to 14 days at a time. You might have a short stay with other people or by yourself. And it’s often funded when your usual carers aren’t available or when you’d like to try new things.
If you’re unable to move into your long-term home because your disability supports aren’t ready, you can access medium-term accommodation, so you have somewhere to live. Medium-term accommodation is usually funded for up to 90 days and you must have your long-term home and medium accommodation already secured.
The Australian Government’s Younger People in Residential Aged Care Strategy 2020-2025 aims to reduce the number of people under 65 living in residential aged care, so they have more choice and control over where and how they live.
It’s important your home is just right for you. We can help you apply to rent a home and support you in keeping your tenancy agreements.
