About the role

 

Wesley Home Modifications and Maintenance Services (WHMMS) provides building modification and maintenance services to support people living with a disability and the elderly to continue to live an independent life in their own home.

 

This role supports WHMMS to deliver a high-quality service to the most in need in our communities. As per the position description, this position will support the service by managing and supporting customers through their period of service.

 

Reporting to the Office Coordinator you will be actively supporting day to day operations. The Admin & Accounts Support role undertakes a range of office-based duties while interacting with customers and stakeholders, primarily by phone and email.

 

Support provided to customers through this role will include handling of customers and trades concerns and queries through various IT platforms, as well as collating customer feedback about the service they have received into those systems.

 

This position requires an energetic individual with good customer service and communication skills, and an eye for detail. You will be able to offer solutions to customer problems and ensure the service brand is maintained.

 

You will work effectively in a small team and be able to work unsupervised when necessary. Strong communication is essential for this role.

Essential skills/knowledge:

  • Computer literacy, particularly in the Microsoft suite of applications.
  • Experience working in an office environment.
  • Experience processing accounts payable and receivable.
  • A good understanding of and experience with debtor management.
  • Strong computer literacy (particularly in database maintenance/entry).
  • An ability to quickly learn and adapt to new computer-based systems.
  • Strong and clear communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to refer to departmental guidelines and procedures.
  • An understanding of the issues faced by people with a disability and with the frail and elderly in the context of Home Modifications and living independently.
  • Ability to follow direction to complete assigned tasks.
  • An ability to set priorities and to achieve them through good time management skills.

 

Desirable skills/knowledge

  • Class C NSW Drivers licence or equivalent.
  • Knowledge & experience in Home Modification & Maintenance Services.
  • A knowledge of the financial aspects of Aged Care funding and packages and NDIS.
  • A good understanding and knowledge of Peoplesoft Financials.
  • A good understanding and knowledge of Microsoft Teams and associated functions.
  • A good understanding and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Not for profit or cause related management experience.
