About us
Wesley Mission is a high profile, multi-faceted Christian organisation making a real difference in the community. We work with the most disadvantaged in our community by providing over 200 services ranging from aged care, homeless services, child and family care, counselling, employment, training and education, and health services.
About the role
Wesley Mission has a long established history in providing Out of Home Care (OOHC) across NSW. This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with children, parents and foster carers, in a role that encourages permanency and best outcomes for children in foster care. The role is part of a vibrant and professional team focussed on children and young people in care, building opportunities and creating connections for our client families across the Hunter. The position has provision of a motor vehicle to assist you meet the needs of families and the support of supervision and training.
Essential criteria
- Bachelor level Degree in Social Work, Social Welfare, Psychology or related discipline
- Excellent verbal and written skills, with the demonstrated ability to write reports to a professional standard
- Demonstrated ability to work with clients and managing challenging situations in a high pace environment
- Highly developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to meet competing deadlines
- Ability to work professionally, upholding standards of case management including policies and procedures of the Out of Home care Program
- Commitment to the Values and Mission statement of Wesley Mission
- Current unrestricted driver’s licence
Desirable criteria
- Experience working with children and families
Remuneration
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHADS) Industry Award 2010. The position also has the provision of a motor vehicle. The agency provides regular supervision and support for all staff and opportunities for professional development.
