Help the most vulnerable in our communities increase their financial literacy, with our award-winning educational program.
Financial literacy program

Financial literacy is for everyone
Understanding how to manage your money is a key component to living and building a stable life. But for those new to Australia or struggling with addiction, dealing with housing instability or victims of financial abuse, it's sometimes hard to understand where their money is going. We can help.
Our In Charge of My Money financial literacy program is all about gaining the skills and confidence to make informed and effective decisions about finances. Delivered in three modules and ideal for face-to-face or online group sessions, this evidence-based program is aligned with the National Financial Literacy Strategy.
Who is it for?
We work with organisations that support vulnerable or disadvantaged individuals, including:
- Asylum seekers and refugee support organisations
- Multicultural and migrant support groups
- Drug and alcohol treatment centres
- Family and domestic violence support organisations
- Homelessness transition.

What support do they need?
We help people learn to navigate Australia's financial system, effectively manage the rising cost of living pressures, take control of their debt and find ways to build savings. This can include those with limited language and literacy skills, unstable employment or low or irregular income.
How can this program help?
After completing the program participants will be able to:
- Understand how much money is coming in and going out (income and expenses)
- Recognise unhelpful habits that impact the ability to manage money
- Set financial goals
- Know how to budget and save
- Understand the real cost of borrowing money
- Understand and compare loans and credit products
- Know where to go for help with debt issues.
