Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid

 

Learn about the signs and symptoms of common and disabling mental health problems, how to provide initial help, where and how to get professional help, and how to help in a crisis situation.

 

Youth Mental Health First Aid

 

Develop a specific skillset on mental health first aid for young people. In this course you’ll learn about adolescent development, signs and symptoms of disabling mental health issues for young people, where to get help and how to support in a crisis situation.  

 

Older Person Mental Health First Aid

This research-based program will help you identify the signs of someone potentially at risk of suicide, and equip you with strategies to respond. This program will help you:

  • understand risk and protective factors
  • identify the warning signs of someone at risk of suicide
  • ask directly about suicide intent
  • find local and national support and resources available to support a person at risk

For Healthcare workers – Wesley LifeForce Suicide Prevention Training

 

Our suicide prevention training is tailored to healthcare sector professionals including GPs, practice nurses and office staff, relationship counsellors, aged care workers and nurses.
