About Wesley Community Housing

 

Wesley Community Housing provides secure, affordable housing for individuals and families who are vulnerable or on very low to moderate incomes, helping those who might not otherwise have access to stable housing. This service is designed for: 

  • People and families on low to moderate incomes across NSW
  • Individuals at risk of homelessness
  • People with specific needs, including those transitioning from out-of-home care or living with disabilities

Our support services

Wesley Community Housing partners with government, support agencies, and other organisations to provide a range of housing options and support services. These include:

Crisis Accommodation (up to 3 months)
Temporary housing while tenants search for longer-term solutions with support from agencies.

Short- to medium-term housing with support to help tenants secure permanent accommodation.

Who is eligible for Wesley Community Housing?

How can I apply for housing?
Individuals wanting to apply for Wesley Community Housing can do so through the Housing Pathways (NSW Housing Register) for general social housing. Alternatively, you can contact Wesley Community Housing directly for other programs like the Kickstart program for young people. 
What documentation is required to apply?
Applicants generally need to provide proof of income, identification and possibly additional documentation depending on the specific housing program they are applying for. 
How is rent calculated?
Rent is calculated based on a % of the tenant’s assessable household income + 100% of any entitlements to the Commonwealth Rent Assistance. Please note, changes in income must be reported within 21 days. Reach out if you have any questions regarding this.  
What should I do if I am struggling to pay rent?
Tenants experiencing financial difficulties should contact their caseworker or Wesley Community Housing’s tenancy officer as soon as possible to discuss payment plans and support options. 
What are my rights as a tenant?
Tenants have the right to a safe and secure living environment, privacy and the ability to request repairs. They also have responsibilities such as paying rent on time and maintaining the property. 
Can I have guests or additional occupants in my home?
Tenants must seek approval from Wesley Community Housing before allowing additional occupants to move in. This ensures that the property remains suitable for all residents. 
What support services are available to tenants?
Wesley Community Housing partners with various agencies to provide support services that may include financial counselling, mental health services, and assistance with finding permanent housing solutions. 
Is there help available for individuals at risk of homelessness?
Yes, Wesley Community Housing offers crisis accommodation and transitional housing specifically designed for individuals who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
