Wesley Mission has a strong connection to gambling harm prevention, having launched Australia’s first dedicated gambling counselling program in 1997. Yet, with $25 billion lost to gambling each year in Australia, it’s imperative as a community services organisation that we continue to provide tools and support to help prevent Australians from gambling harm.
In collaboration with the Office of Responsible Gambling and YouGov, we conducted a six-month post-launch survey to determine the public’s awareness of GambleAware and its effectiveness.
The report demonstrates the helpline is delivering on its objectives for the general public, helpline counsellors and team members, ensuring a smooth delivery of service in the prevention of gambling harm.
